Airbnb overwhelmed by support for Ukraine humanitarian help

Airbnb says it’s been overwhelmed by the support for its initiatives to help Ukraine.

As of Tuesday this week there had been more than 1.2 million visitors to Airbnb’s Help Ukraine website page and nearly 30,000 hosts signed up to offer their homes to refugees across 160 countries around the world.

Over last weekend, in just 48 hours, Airbnb received more than $1.2 million in direct donations, from a total of nearly 14,000 individual donors across 72 different countries.

Now Airbnb is partnering with the UN Migration agency, to connect people fleeing Ukraine to free, short-term housing in Poland, Moldova, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia.
